How It Started
A mechanic and a fleet manager, one bad auction
In 1987, diesel mechanic Ray Holt and fleet manager Carla Vance both got burned by the same auction house — a “low-hour” excavator that blew a hydraulic pump inside its first week on a job site. They started Ironyard to do the one thing that auction hadn’t: put every machine through a real shop inspection before it ever changes hands.
